To help ring the holiday season with style, the incredible performers at Reveille Men’s Chorus are giving us the greatest present of all, the gift of Song. Reveille Men’s Chorus will be presenting their latest masterpiece, the Island of Misfit Toys, to a welcoming audience next month but I’m here to give you a sneak preview today! At the end of this article, you’ll find a link where you can pick up your tickets today for Island of Misfit Toys!
Welcome to the Island of Misfit Toys!
I’ll just come out and say it, I absolutely love Reveille shows. Their angelic voices and decorative stage design are definite draws, but what keeps me coming back is the message. The message of the Island of Misfit Toys is the real reason why this holiday show will be such a fantastic experience!
The metaphor of Misfit Toys dovetails nicely to a discussion of acceptance and loving each other because not in spite of, our individual misfit parts. This is the perfect message for the holiday season and, frankly, for this entire country. Our society is becoming less open and welcoming of others and Reveille Men’s Chorus has something to say about this trend. I applaud them for advocating for increased tolerance.
It’s Not Just the Message, It’s the Message with the Music
The music is where Reveille Men’s Chorus really shines! They seamlessly weave traditional holiday anthems with modern pop tunes and even notes of barbershop and opera. Their huge, talented and diverse cast allows them to combine many different inspirations into one spectacular melting-pot of a song.
Reveille is also about having a good time. You’ll not only be tapping your feet and possibly shedding a tear or two, but you’ll also be laughing out loud the whole time! Their grand sense of humor mixed with their masterful stagecraft create an impactful yet endearing production.
I know what you’re thinking… where is that link for tickets that you mentioned earlier, Tony Ray? I’m many things, but I’m no liar:
