Home to Jello (one of Tucson’s well known charity events), Woody’s
is a great neighborhood, video, gay bar.
I’ve know the owners, Dave and Frank, for many years and they are
both really nice guys. They used to own another gay bar called Ibt’s until they decided to sell it and focus solely
on Woody’s.
The inside decor has a nice, upscale, clean video bar atmosphere. With a long bar area, lots
of TV’s and a dance floor with fiber optic lighting, this bar is sure to fit most needs.
It was remodeled
in later months of 2007, so if you have not been in lately, go check it out.
In Tucson, most evenings are best
enjoyed outdoors so I personally love the Woody’s outdoor section. The area has a large bar with seating all around
and on weekends there is usually a DJ spinning music.
There are four cabanas outside as well, each one set up
like a little living room. They have a couch, coffee table and side chairs. They are perfect for a little gay socializing.
On my birthday Dave and Frank reserved a couple of the cabanas for me. We had about 30 to 40 people there and our own waiter
(cabana boy!) who did a great job taking care of everyone.
They definitely have a mixed, gay crowd. Men
and women of all ages (legal of course).
Friday and Saturdays are usually the busiest nights.
Sunday draws
a late afternoon crowd for food and live music. Sunday is also a busy night for the gay, karaoke crowd.
