Gay Neighborhoods in Tucson.
hey tony ray, love your city and hope to move there
one day soon. I'd like to know where the gay neighborhood is to buy/rent in so I may check out what the cost to live is.
would love any help. thanks jamesHi James, There
are a lot of gay people living in Tucson. All over Tucson. There really is no gay neighborhood like Hillcrest
in San Diego or The Castro district in San Francisco. There may be more members of the GLBT community around areas
where there are services available. For example, the central area, near downtown. Wingspan and
SAAF are near there and on Fourth Ave there is the Rainbow Coffee shop, Antigone Book Store and a gay dance bar called IBT's. Club Congress is downtown, they are the host for the GLBT Chamber breakfast
meetings. There are a couple of very gay friendly and popular restaurants downtown, Enoteca and Cafe Poca Cosa.
The Fox Theater and the Rialto Theater are both there as well. The clubs are all within a short distance from each other, the majority
of them are all located on the west end of central Tucson. If you were to take a cab from La Siesta Motel or the Executive
Inn & Suites (both near each other), it would probably cost about five bucks to get to one of several clubs: The Biz, IBT"S, Venture N, the Yard Dog, Woody's, Howl at the Moon. There are gay owned and gay friendly businesses everywhere as well as gay households. I know that's probably not the answer you are
looking for. It's part of what makes Tucson so special. I think it shows that the GLBT community feels welcome
and accepted here. So my best advice would be this, contact me and we can talk about what you will need when you move here. From
there we can pinpoint the best location for you. In the meantime,
set the price you'd be comfortable with for rent or a mortgage. Once we have a price and location, the rest is pretty easy. Let me know how I can further assist you. Feel free to call me on my cell
phone or email me .
Thank
you.Your Real Estate Consultant for life,Tony RayTony

One of the best gifts ever...A shower!
One of
the reasons that Tucson's water gets high marks for being good water is the chemicals used to treat it. I'm
okay with that, but, I don't like the chlorine taste. So, I use a water pitcher with a filter. The water tastes great, I can refill my stainless steel bottle, not buy plastic bottles and life is good.My other complaint is that my skin feels dry after a shower.
Again, the chlorine plays its part. My home does not have a soft water system and I'm not ready to incur that expense.
The gift of Sprite to the rescue (no, not the soda). Sprite
Industries makes a shower head (see photo, yes, that's my shower) with a changeable, carbon filter. I used it for the first time this morning
and loved it. My hair and skin feel softer, the steam was better to breath and I was happy knowing that the filter was
taking away chlorine, dirt and iron oxide. I highly recommend getting one of these. Tony Ray

Say No to Cinemark Theaters, Yes to Harkins Theaters
Alan Stock, the CEO of Cinemark Theaters, wants to have his "Milk" and drink it too...so to speak. |
| | Cinemark owns all but one of the theaters in Tucson showing the critically
acclaimed movie "Milk," which opened Friday. I have a real problem
with the fact that Mr. Stock personally donated $9,999.99 in support of Proposition 8, while his company is set to make millions from a film about Harvey Milk, one of the true heroes of the LGBT civil rights movement. This is why I am
writing to ask for your help. We need to send a message to Mr. Stock and other business leaders.
They can't
financially support bigotry and homophobia and then expect to profit from our community and our history.
What better way to do this than to raise
$9,999.99 in support of Wingspan's work in the coming year, while sending a message directly to Mr. Stock that this
money was raised because of his support for anti-LGBT ballot measures. If you make an online donation of $9.99 or more, Wingspan will mail
a postcard to the CEO of Cinemark Theaters, stating that a donation was made to Wingspan in his name. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, your donation
is worth twice as much! Our anonymous donor
will match your donation, dollar for dollar, up to $4,999.99. Please help us maximize this opportunity to support YOUR community
and YOUR center by making a donation online today!
Additionally, please choose to patronize the Harkins Tucson Spectrum 18 when you see "Milk." It is the only theater showing the film in the Tucson area that is not owned by Cinemark.
On behalf of Wingspan's incredible board
staff and volunteers, I want to thank you for your support in 2008. I look forward to serving you and our community in 2009.
Happy Holidays!

a message to business leaders who financially support the anti-LGBT industry. Please give what you can today using the Google

Finally Back... for a minute.
It seems like I have been away forever. About a month ago I helped some great friends buy a home in San Diego, California.
This trip was to help finish picking out the finishes. Anyway, it will be absolutely stunning when it is
all finished. The photo is of the view from their current home. And Fini LOL Real estate has been getting better and better. I have three new homes that will be listed around the first
of January. One is a block, 2 bedroom 2 bath on the SW part of Tucson and will be listed under $200,000. It is
immaculate. Then there is the one in the Rancho Vistoso area. Gorgeous home for under $600,000. I wrote
about it in an earlier blog. The other home is East side and I will let you know more after I see it next week.
The reason I am telling you about all of these homes is because you or someone you know may want information before they
are listed to the public. If so, call me. (520) 631-TONY (8669)I just read an article this morning on NewGayTravelGuide.com about calling in Gay for the day of December 10. The article is titled "Day Without a Gay". Check it
out, I think we all need to keep doing whatever we can, especially while the "fire is hot", so to speak.Okay, I must go. I am working with new four buyers this next
two weeks and loving every minute. TonyRay

Mortgage interest rates are very volatile
The stock market has been very volatile for over six months and mortgage backed securities (mortgage interest rates)
are just as volatile. Interest rates can swing as much as a half a percent in a given day. This is very different
than what consumers came to expect in years past. Lenders quote rates by the hour now, as rates can move before the
end of the day. If you like your rate quote today, it could very likely be gone tomorrow.
